Clayton Harmey continued his winning form at Newcastle last Friday night securing a training treble with SOHO SINATRA, BRITNEY JANE and ROCKNROLL RHYTHM. Jemma Coney took SOHO SINATRA to an all the way win in Race 2, the pair combined again in Race 4 giving Coney a driving double aboard her own mare BRITNEY JANE making it four wins from her last five starts. Race favourite ROCKNROLLRHYTHM rounded out the treble with a 4.4m win in Race 5 with Blake Hughes in the gig.
Some technical difficulties with the vision in Race 1, but Tom Ison snuck BREXITT ($23) home by a neck for owner/trainer Denis Maricic. THE TIGER ARMY marched on late to take out Race 3 and it was great to see father/son pair Guy Chapple (driver) & Mitch Chapple (trainer) take out Race 6 with ROCLEA STAR on the Fathers Day weekend of racing. The pair were denied a back to back race double by trainer / driver Michael Formosa who steered HEAVENLY HOLLY to victory in Race 7. The Roy Roots Jnr trained, KENDY'S BUTTERFLY ($5.50) held out the race favourite to claim the COCA COLA TWO YEAR OLD PACE with Jake Hughes in the seat and another family combo prevailed in the last with Luke Barry taking PONDEROSA BIGZ ($11) across the line for father-in-law Anthony Priestley.
