Roughie DYNAMIC DEEJAY ($126) opened the card with a late charge win by a neck for owner/trainer/driver Shane Harmey. Father / son combo Paul & Dan Morgan were victorious with NEVER KNOW CHARLIE ($14) in Race 2, the first of a training double for Paul Morgan. The second was race favourite THREE SMOOCHAS in the AVE TECHNOLOGIES TWO YEAR OLD PACE (Race 7) with Brad Elder in the gig.
Adam Ruggari's HAZELNUTS ($18) saluted in Race 3, driven by Jake Hughes in a mile rate of 1.54.6. Race 4 was a family affair for the Elders with the Melanie Elder trained ASHARK ($10) returning to Newcastle after a couple of weeks competing at Menangle, piloted to a win by brother Brad in the first of a driving double for the Louth Park reinsman.
Race favourite IM QUICK AS FIRE NZ was driven by Blake Hughes to an 8m Australian debut win in Race 5 for boss Clayton Harmey. Roy Roots Jnr & Tom Ison combined for a winning double with favourites CALL ME MATTY (Race 6) and ONE REASON (Race 8) both saluting. Laura Spencer and Josh Osborn rounded out the last with FRAME DRIVE notching up its first win of the season.
