More news out of the Seymour stable today, with an online silent auction set up by Newcastle Harness Racing Club offering harness enthusiasts an opportunity to purchase a piece of history in the making.

Champion pacer LEAP TO FAME owners Kevin & Kay Seymour are generously donating three limited edition collector's items with all proceeds raised going to Newcastle Harness Racing Club's charity partner, the John Hunter Children's Hospital Kids Club.

The framed memorabilia will include a set of LEAP TO FAME racing colours, winning shoes and photographs signed by trainer/ driver Grant Dixon of the wins at Inter Dominion 2023 and Hunter Cup 2024.

LEAP TO FAME has won nine races on the trot and is set to make it 10/10 at the AVE TECHNOLOGIES NEWCASTLE MILE on Friday 23 February 2024 where he's chasing the win and automatic qualification into the 2024 Miracle Mile.

If successful at Newcastle, a further signed photograph of this win will be included in the framed memorabilia.

This latest announcement is off the back of news last week that should LEAP TO FAME win this Friday night's feature, the Seymours will gift 5% of winning stakes to one lucky Newcastle Mile patron plus match the donation with a further 5% pledge to the John Hunter Children's Hospital Kids Club (JHCHKC).

Newcastle Harness Racing Club has supported the 'Kids Club' for over 25 years and is very proud that the weekly raffles conducted at race meetings have been acknowledged by JHCHKC President Jan Waugh as one of the largest overall contribution sources to their fundraising which has raised more that $2.8 million over the last 31 years helping sick children in the Hunter Region.

"The harness community are always so generous at our weekly raffles and we're so grateful for the added opportunities presented by the Club, particularly over the last six years at the Newcastle Mile which enable us to ramp up funds raised. These latest two gestures by the Seymours are just the icing on the cake, we couldn't be more thankful', said Ms Waugh.
